HPiON, together with Volttera, is proud to announce its selection as a Reserve Team for the next phase of the Al Miyah Challenge for Agriculture 2025 — an initiative of the Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative focused on advancing innovative solutions for water-efficient agriculture.

Our proposal presented an integrated desert-climate solution combining off-grid solar energy, greenhouse infrastructure, and innovative water-generation technologies, designed to support sustainable agriculture in water- and energy-stressed environments.

A Highly Competitive Field

The Al Miyah Challenge attracted 846 registered teams from 54 countries, underscoring the competitive, international nature of the program. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 21 teams were selected to advance to the next stage of the competition.

As part of this process, HPiON and Volttera were selected as a Reserve Team for the Team Pitch phase, as confirmed by official communication from the Al Miyah Challenge.

What This Recognition Means

This is an important milestone for our technology and validates our approach to addressing the interconnected challenges of water scarcity, desert agriculture, renewable energy, and climate resilience.

While we did not progress to the final testing stage, the experience provided valuable external validation and insights that will help us continue refining our technology.

Looking Ahead

We remain committed to developing scalable, AI-powered, off-grid solutions that support agriculture and communities across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Africa, MENA, and other water-scarce regions.
