HPiON is proud to announce that its AI-powered autonomous off-grid cold-storage solution has been nominated for the prestigious Almarai Prize in recognition of its contribution to sustainable agriculture and food security.
The nomination recognizes the work of Dr. T. Nozha and the HPiON team in developing the “AI Powered Autonomous Off Grid Cold Storage Platform for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security.”
The solution is designed to address several critical challenges facing agriculture and food supply chains, particularly in remote, desert and off-grid environments, where reliable electricity and cold-chain infrastructure can be limited or unavailable.
A New Approach to Autonomous Cold Storage
The HPiON platform integrates multiple technologies into one autonomous system, including:

HPiON’s solution is designed to enable farmers, food producers and agricultural communities to preserve perishable products closer to the point of production, even where conventional grid infrastructure is unreliable.
This aligns strongly with the broader importance of sustainable agriculture and food security in Saudi Arabia and the GCC. Almarai itself identifies sustainable agriculture, resource efficiency and food security as important areas within its sustainability strategy.
